Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC 5-Axis Hurco Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate has strong CNC machining experience, excellent blueprint-reading skills, and the ability to independently set up, operate, and troubleshoot 5-axis Hurco machining centers.
This position is responsible for producing high-quality precision components while maintaining tight tolerances, meeting production schedules, and following established quality and safety standards.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience with 5-axis CNC machining strongly preferred.
- Experience operating Hurco CNC machines preferred.
- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T.
- Proficient with precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to perform CNC machine setups independently.
- Ability to make tool offsets, wear adjustments, and basic program edits.
- Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, workholding, and machining processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot machining and dimensional problems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Main duties
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Hurco 5-axis CNC machining centers.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, work instructions, and inspection requirements.
- Load and verify CNC programs and make necessary program offsets and adjustments.
- Select, install, and measure cutting tools and workholding.
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make appropriate tooling, offset, and process adjustments.
- Maintain tight dimensional tolerances and consistent part quality.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Identify tooling wear and replace tooling as needed.
- Work closely with engineering, programming, and quality personnel to resolve machining and quality issues.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
- Complete required production and inspection documentation.
$25.00 - 38.00 per hour
