Hours: 39 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 7.30am – 4.00pm Monday-Thursday & 7.30am – 3.00pm Friday

Salary: Up to £33,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Mersen UK Teesside Ltd is fully integrated into the Anticorrosion Equipment and Graphite Specialities Divisions of Mersen and continues to be the centre of excellence for the design and manufacture of Graphite Cubic Block Heat Exchangers within the Mersen Anticorrosion Equipment Division.

 

The Role:

 

Mersen UK Teesside Ltd have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Inspector to join our QC (Quality Control) team based in our Teesside site (Eaglescliffe). We are looking for a driven, meticulous individual to support our QC team. The main duties associated with the Quality Inspector are:

 

  • To read drawings and specifications.
  • To monitor our Operations team ensuring that products produced meet customer requirements.
  • To recommend adjustments to the Assembly or Production processes.
  • To inspect, test, and measure materials or products being manufactured.
  • To measure products with a range of equipment/tools including callipers, gauges, or micrometres.
  • To accept or reject finished items.
  • To remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications and provide recommendations on best practice.
  • To discuss inspection results with those responsible for products.
  • To report on inspections and test data as when required.

 

Person Specification:

  • It’s essential that applicants have proven turning/milling experience. Further the successful candidate must be able to understand drawings and associated GD+T specifications.
  • Applicants must be an advanced user of all programmes associated with Microsoft Office.
  • Candidates must be educated to at least GCSE level (Grade 4/C or above) in English and Mathematics or hold relevant equivalent qualifications. Applicants must also hold a Level 3 qualification in an Engineering field.
  • As full training will be provided in this role, it’s vital the successful candidate has a positive attitude and is proactive with their development.

  • Supports company departments in applying quality standards..

  • Analyses faults, deploys corrective actions and verifies their effectiveness..

  • Coordinates quality projects/reviews (communication and problem solving in a multidisciplinary team)..
        >> Assessment indicator : Number of projects/reviews

 

  • Ensures that documentation relating to quality is kept up to date..
        >> Assessment indicator : Number of documentation updated

 

  • Performs operational quality control of parts or products..
