Role Description:
Working closely with the UK Financial Controller and UK General Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end finance operations, budgetary control, financial analysis and planning, completing company projects as well as improving procedures and controls.
The role will be located in our Teesside site, however as part of the UK Finance Shared Service Centre, you will participate and assist in the management of the Finance function for the UK and become a key Business Partner for senior management.
Main Duties:
- Designs and develops reports relating to an activity/project/product/site.
- Analysis and reporting in accordance with a defined timetable, the performance of an activity/project/product/site based on defined objectives, budgets and forecasts or data from the previous year.
- Determines the cost, the cost price of a service, a unit, product, project (standard or real return).
- Responsible for the drafting of the budget and forecasting indicators.
- Implements tools/processes or escalation procedure allowing the production of reliable metrics and KPI within a defined time-period.
- Writes reports for the UK General Manager or UK Financial Controller on the performance of activity/project/product/site.
- Certifying the integrity of ERP data and financial accounting transactions.
- As a financial expert, advise the UK General Manager or UK Financial Controller with complex subjects.
- Participates to Capex management (follow up, post-project analysis, valuations).
- Working closely with non-finance related stakeholders.
- Participate where relevant, in regular accounting closing operations (forecast, estimates, closing of production operations).
- Supervises in the inventory and fixed asset’s reliability (counting, valuation, provision).
- Variance analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory reporting.
- Internal control.
- Cash flow improvement.
- Internal and External audits.
Candidates must also be willing to travel occasionally between UK sites (Teesside, Holytown and Portslade)
Qualifications:
- Accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent extensive experience.
- 3 years’ experience within a similar manufacturing role.
Skills:
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with an ERP (preferably JD Edwards).
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Critical thinker/Problem solver.
- Ability to manage own workload and work autonomously.

Main duties
- Supervises the Site-s accounting head(s) in carrying out and checking (i) internal Group reporting and (ii) in producing statutory accounts and where relevant, tax return. Helps Site-s with complex accounting operations and depreciations and provisions.Facilitates the relationship with auditors on the Site-s under his responsibility.

- Supervises the production of the budget for the relevant Site-s, in accordance with the directions given by the relevant Group Segment/Business Unit.
Implements the relevant reports/metrics. Prepare regular Forecast on Sales, Operating Income, Cash.

- Writes a report on a monthly basis (or supervise this process) for the Group Segment/Business Unit to explain the performance of site-s with regard to results and working capital (in comparison with the previous year, forecasts or budget) and follows the site investment plan.

- Helps the Business (General) Manager, the Site (General) Manager or the Segment/Business Unit’ VPs to draw up plans to optimize costs and improve cash flow (or with any other project that will have a positive effect on the results or value of the site), then implements and monitors action plans using appropriate metrics. Participates in investment case study and validates financial calculations.

- Manages site taxes (along with the Group Finance Department), consulting local expertise, especially for transfer pricing.

- Informs the Group Finance Department of risks relating to exchange rates and commodities. Manages the credit management of the Site-s under his/her responsibility.

- Implements necessary actions for internal control and prevention of significant financial and legal risks (contacts, litigation, trade barriers, guarantees, ect…).

- With the Group and Group Segment/Business Unit, participates in the management of the financial services in the Site-s under his responsibility (organization, recruitment, training, etc.).

- Is required to play a cross-disciplinary role in information systems (project management, management of ongoing improvement, etc.).
