Primary Duties/ Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include the management of production activities, effective utilization of department personnel while maintaining a strong safety focus, training and scheduling, utilization of equipment to meet customer needs, material purchases (excluding raw materials), and department quality requirements.  The major challenge will be to ensure safe operations with optimum efficiencies focused on cost control, JIT production schedules and stringent quality standards.  

Minimum Qualifications

Five years’ experience in a graphite manufacturing environment with prior supervision or team leader responsibilities is preferred.  This position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, to identify, assess and react quickly to resolve problems, and to interpret and respond effectively to changing process demands.  The candidate must have effective communication skills, the ability and willingness to motivate employees and to enforce company policies and procedures.  Basic computer skills in the MS Office suite of products are a must – familiarity with ERP software, such as JDE will be a plus.
