Main duties

Responsibilities

    Initiates and facilitates Lean improvement programs and activities
    Responsible for leadership and development of programs that educate teammates about lean concepts that lead to the identification, development, and implementation of improvements for all operations and business processes.  Typical improvement activities result in improved safety, productivity, quality, and cost reductions.
    Provide CI activity support across the site.  May be required to provide assistance to other sites.
    Directs and facilitates the ongoing lean improvement process through the use of techniques such as Policy Deployment, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, value stream mapping and statistical methods.
    Provides lean improvement orientation and on-the-job training for teammates and ensures that the responsibilities are well defined and understood.
    Oversees site level lean projects.
    Teaches others to lead improvement efforts, including training the tools for successful project leadership.
    Identifies ongoing lean improvement training needs assists with developing and implementing the required training.
    Ensures that appropriate safety and ergonomic processes and methods are being utilized.
    Establishes metrics to monitor financial savings as compared to established goals and targets.
    Develops and maintains annual value stream mapping efforts, CI plans and calendars.
    Provides support to external customers in support of all the value-added initiatives. 
    

Education level:   BS:  Industrial Engineer degree .
Experience Level:    Full working knowledge of lean concepts with demonstrated success; Min 5 years in production, quailty or supply chain role with lean management expertise.
