Basic Purpose
Responsible for accounting, reporting, finance, tax and audit activities of the site and enforces Group and site policies accordingly.
Main duties
Main Duties
• Ensures data entry, checking, reconciliation of accounting entries (clients, suppliers, tax on sales, fixed assets, etc.).
• Provide support to A/R and A/P functions on daily work. Review and validate data entry and accounting entries performed by these functions. Perform monthly reconciliations of sub-ledger balances.
• Participates in the reconciliation of inventory and Work-in-Process sub-ledger balances. Investigate discrepancies, fix underlying issues, and record adjustments as needed.
• Checks the overall reliability of accounting data, balance accounts, substantiating documents, reconciliation with ledger posting and with bank statements.
• Ensures the monthly/ quarterly/ annual account statement for which the accountant is responsible are accurate, within the set deadlines and in a reliable manner.
• Participate in management of fixed assets including tracking in-process additions, placing items into service, recording depreciation, and disposals.
• Participate in the sales and use tax reporting process. Calculate taxes due, record appropriate entries to the general ledger, and initiate payments to taxing authorities.
• Participates in internal audits and in risk management, informing management of all events where the accounting impact is significant or suspicious.
• Participates in the budget process. Ensures expenditure controls and analyzes budget variances.
• Analysis of cost performance by activity / project / product based on defined objectives and / or budget and / or forecasts.
Requested Skills and Knowledge
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• CPA or CPA Candidate a plus
• 3-5 years financial accounting experience
• JD Edwards experience a plus
• Mastery of Microsoft Office suite
• Global accounting including consolidations and IFRS
• Local taxation knowledge
• Internal controls
• Financial reporting
