Main missions

Operate the CNC Turret Punch and support the production team by, operating machinery, bending, punching or sawing of metal products as instructed by supervisors. Produce a variety of parts, all of which must meet the dimensional specifications of the mechanical engineered drawings.

Main duties

  1. Operate the CNC Turret Punch and other machinery used in the production process, or assist other machine operators.
  2. Select proper die clearances based on material requirements.
  3. Set up tooling, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
  4. Determine condition of tools and point of re-sharpening.
  5. Re-sharpen punches and dies as needed.
  6. Work in a fast paced environment with fast changing priorities.
  7. Keep work area clean and organized.
  8. Follow all company rules and policies.
  9. Follow all safety rules and quality standards.
  10. Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
  11. Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  12. Prepare product for shipment.
  13. Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment. Physically able to clear jams from machine.
  14. Operate machinery used in the production process, or assist machine operators.

 

Requested Knowledge, Competencies and Abilities:

  • High School diploma or equivelant required
  • Minimum 2 years expierence as a CNC machinist or other relevant role
  • Solid necessary math skills, including measuring and keeping records
  • Able to read and follow technical drawings and diagram instructions
  • Significant knowledge of CNC operation and maintenance
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Positive attitude, reliable, and a team player
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Solid computer skills

 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 30 pounds, which would require the use of lift aids. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Salary Range

$25.00 / hr - $32.00 / hr
