Main missions

The Assembly supervisor oversees a crew of assemblers and laborers through specific operations across multiple shifts. This includes lamination, epoxy and mechanical assembly as well as die cutting and knife cutting operations. The supervisor is to ensure that the production in the workshop complies with company policies, process instructions and requirements in the following areas: safety, environmental, process procedures, equipment operation, quality, cost, lead time, and other KPI (Key Performance Indicators) by employing continuous improvement philosophies.

Main duties

  1. Supervises a crew of up to 40 employees and prioritizes work.
  2. Ensures compliance with the daily production requirements to achieve acceptable safety, cost, and delivery and quality goals.
  3. Contributes to the development and implementation of production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel and equipment to accomplish targeted results.
  4. Establishes priorities; monitors progress; revises schedules; resolves problems; reports results of shift production; targets required delivery times.
  5. Sets goals and objectives, breaks the work down into stages, defines the work schedule, assesses the degree of difficulty of the tasks and their priority (considering the priorities of the company). Anticipates problems and adjusts if necessary; evaluates the results
  6. Conducts daily team lead and department meetings.
  7. Communicates and enforces company policies, regulations, instructions and requirements with the operators on a regular basis while monitoring implementation in the workshop.
  8. Enforces all company safety policies and procedures.
  9. Works to continuously improve production areas of responsibility, verifying availability and capability of required equipment, materials and resources to achieve stated goals.
  10. Provides regular feedback to direct employees on performance and ensures training is adequate in both safety and production processes.
  11. Generates positive employee motivation and counsel’s staff on performance and skills, through routine feedback annual reviews, skills and career development planning.
  12. Organizes, supervises, leads and trains employees to complete projects within established guidelines and time frames.
  13. Attends and participates in all operation meetings as required.
  14. Ensures work is done within AS9000 guidelines.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly lift 20-30 pounds
  • Regularly perform repetitive tasks
  • Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
