Mission
In the role of Engineering Technician for our High Power Test Lab you will conduct testing for outside customers and support our Engineering and Marketing teams.
Main Accountabilities
- Conduct high fault current, surge testing, time current and cycling testing in accordance with test standard specifications
- Maintain all of the Labs’ Power Generation and associated Test Equipment
- Assure the Lab procedures comply with ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 functions to maintain certification
- Cross train lab personnel and associates on all procedures associated with the Labs
- Maintain a high degree of working knowledge of listing services standards
- Evaluate Test Data and Test Performances to support Design Engineers’ theories
- Recommend upgrades and justify reasons for Safety, Power Generation and Data Acquisition upgrades
- Assist on Team Projects as required
- Keep the lab and equipment clean
- Must be willing to work overtime
Required Skills
- Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Working experience with PC operating platforms (Windows, Excel, and Word)
- General knowledge of Transformer Theory, Solid State Components and Electromagnetic Fields
- Ability to understand and troubleshoot Control Systems to the Component Level
- Knowledge of Data Acquisition Systems
- Must be capable of communicating with internal engineers and customers
