MISSION
In the role of Electrical Engineer you will Support new product development efforts from an electrical design perspective by designing new products and ensuring that all products meet all standards or customer specifications. In a team environment, design all products so that they can be manufactured and that they meet the target cost and performance requirements. Support cross functional teams, Manufacturing, and Quality; on product development, released product strategies, objectives, action plans, and open issues to closure. Participate in engineering special projects, writing procedures, developing processes, and providing engineering support for all locations when required.
DIMENSIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Support product management teams with new product development and other support as required.
- Meet target cost and schedules according to project definition.
- Develop characteristic curves for new products as well as updating existing product data.
- Specific major projects and goals are defined in the annual review.
- To ensure that new products are completed in a timely manner.
- To contribute to the support of the design teams to meet their goals.
- To contribute to the support of product management to meet their deadlines on new product.
- To represent the company as needed on industry or code panels such as NEMA, IEEE, or NEC., etc.
- Support on-going released product for design improvements, cost reductions, and issue resolution.
- Evaluate test data and product performance while creating various engineering design data documents.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 3-5 years plus of experience in the field of Electrical Engineering.
- Design knowledge in electrical circuit protection a plus
- Knowledge of principles of concurrent engineering, design for manufacture assembly.
- Knowledge or familiarity of power generation and distribution systems is a plus
- Experience in other electrical and or thermal simulation software is a plus.
- Experience in power electronics and power systems
- Creative, hands-on individual
- Engineering project management experience is a plus
- Knowledge of NEC/CEC electrical systems and design
- Experience in Low voltage and medium voltage system design preferred
- Experience with performing load calculations, short-circuit, and coordination studies. SKM (or similar) software proficiency preferred.
- Experience with working directly with customers to help identify potential product solutions to meet application needs.
- Familiarity with Circuit protection safety standards (UL, CSA, IEC, IEEE, ANSI, NEC, etc.)
- Ability to work in various lab environments (high voltage, low voltage, environmental).
