Technical Sales Aerospace

General Description:

  • Represents company in the promotion and sales relating to aerospace industry (civil and military applications), to established customers and most importantly to seek prospective customers as part of the Strategy of Mersen Bay City to expand in that area.

 

Exemplary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Call on management representatives such as purchasing agents, buyers, engineers or other professional and/or technical personnel at commercial, industrial and other establishments to establish sales contract for product.
  • Responsible for customer contact with complete planning and technical support related to the application of Mersen product lines.
  • Process quotations and suggest necessary alternative in customer design for adaptability to company’s processes.  Coordinate and assist technical engineering staff to determine customers needs and recommend to customers products that meet requirements of industry standards.
  • Responsible for details of marketing, grading pricing, customer correspondence and liaison between engineering and quality department for the product.
  • Work with manufacturing representatives and customer service on responsiveness in meeting the needs of major customer and those we want to develop.  Keep company informed on competitive products, promotional matter, sales techniques, pricing and marketing strategies.
  • Assist in the preparation of sales forecasts for assigned product/s.  Prepare and submit reports on activities, sales volume, expenses.  Account support, forecasting and development.
  • Responsibility for new product development coordination with customers and Mersen Engineering R&D.
  • Continually improve and monitor quality through product delivery, conformance and performance, by being the customer’s VOC within Mersen.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline(aerospace specialty a strong plus)
  • Minimum of 7 yrs of Technical Product Mgmt. / Business Development
  • Minimum of 2 years of specific aerospace sales related work experience
  • Proven track record in Business Development
  • Proficient in Communication at all levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel
  • Proficient in Sales Force or other CRM software

 

Other Requirements:

  • Expected to travel 50% (predominantly within North America)
  • Position based in Bay City, MI
