Main duties

General Description:

  • Set up, adjust and operate a variety of large machines, perform machining operations involving close tolerance and  finish specifications.

Exemplary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ability to follow operational sequences prescribed.
  • Operate machines to produce pilot pieces for inspection, check setups and make adjustments to correct variances. 
  • Work from part drawings, specifications, setup and operating instructions.
  •  Use a wide range of precision measuring instruments and devices to set up, operate and check work.
  •  Be responsible for final inspection under general supervision.
  • Continually improve and monitor quality through product delivery, conformance and performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

Suggested high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CNC Machinist Requirements

• Mastercam/ Cad/Cam knowledge

• Willing to work as a team

• Ability to follow work instructions

• Knowledge and experience in 3 and 5 axis CNC machining

• Collecting data from blueprints, plans, work orders and other

sources to fill in inspection sheet, ISO9001 knowledge preferred

• Entering instructions into the CNC equipment based on what the

programmer decides

• Setting up the CNC equipment with the correct attachments and

parts to perform the job

• Operating and monitoring the machines, multiple machines at a

time

• Troubleshooting issues with the machine programming

• Following safety procedures and regulations

• Collaborating with engineers, management and other team

members

• Inspecting and maintaining the equipment, PMP duties

• CMM familiarity or knowledge

• Familiar with Calipers/ Mics/ depth Mics / Gage pins

• Familiar with different types of tooling endmill / Bullnose / Ballnose

/ chamfer mills, drills etc.

• Attention to detail along with good listening skills

• Understanding of decimal system

• Night Shift positions
